In our first article, Arthritis: Introduction, Causes of Arthritis, we had talked about introduction and causes of Arthritis. In this article, we will discuss about the Types or Kinds of Arthritis. Arthritis
What are the different types of Arthritis? or What are the different kinds of Arthritis? and How is Arthritis classified?
Broadly speaking, the different types of Arthritis are classified into 2 broad categories. First if the Primary Form of Arthritis and second is the Secondary to other diseases. Within each category, we have different kinds of Arthritis. We are listing them below.

Primary forms of arthritis: These are the kinds of "actual" Arthritis diseases. They are not as a side effect of other diseases.

 --* Osteoarthritis:
OA is a chronic condition characterized by the breakdown of the joint’s cartilage. The breakdown of cartilage causes the bones to rub against each other, causing stiffness, pain and loss of movement in the joint. This is the most common kind of arthritis.

 --* Rheumatoid arthritis:
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disease, mainly characterized by inflammation of the lining, or synovium, of the joints. It can lead to long-term joint damage, resulting in chronic pain, loss of function and disability.

 --* Septic arthritis:
This kind of arthritis is mainly because of the infection to the joints which can lead to a major problem in joints. Septic arthritis should be considered whenever one is assessing a patient with joint pain. This has to be diagnosed with a no. of factors.

 --* Gout and pseudogout: This is the kind of Arthritis in which there is a deposit made in and around the joint. This deposit is usually of the uric acid crystals which may cause inflammation. Gout is characterized by excruciating, sudden, unexpected, burning pain, as well as swelling, redness, warmth, and stiffness in the affected joint. This occurs most commonly in men's toes but can appear in other parts of the body and affect women as well.

 --* Juvenile idiopathic arthritis: This is the kind of arthritis in Children. Symptoms of JIA are often non-specific initially, and include lethargy, reduced physical activity, and poor appetite. There are also fever or flu kind of symptoms causing illness to the kids.

 --* Still's disease: A typical type especially for the ones in the age group 16 to 35 years. It is usually grouped under juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

 --* Ankylosing spondylitis: It is a type of arthritis classified as a a form of Spondyloarthritis, a chronic, inflammatory arthritis. It affects joints in the spine and the sacroilium in the pelvis, causing eventual fusion of the spine.

Secondary to other diseases: The Arthritis may come as a side effect of other diseases. They are listed below as per Wiki.

* Lupus erythematosus
* Sarcoidosis
* Henoch-Schönlein purpura
* Psoriatic arthritis
* Reactive arthritis
* Haemochromatosis
* Hepatitis
* Wegener's granulomatosis (and many other vasculitis syndromes)
* Lyme disease
* Familial Mediterranean fever
* Hyperimmunoglobulinemia D with recurrent fever
* TNF receptor associated periodic syndrome
* Inflammatory bowel disease (Including Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis)

Arthritis is a disease in which there is major damage to the body joints and there are a lot of conditions attached to the Arthritis Problem.
