I have taken I-pill within 72 hours. how do I know if it is a success and I am not pregnant?
There are many ways in which you can check for the Success of Emergency Contraceptive Pill:

- If I-pill was successful in eliminating the unwanted pregnancy, then you will get the periods at normal time.

- You may buy and use the home based pregnancy test kits and test yourself for pregnancy. However, these pregnnacy tests should be conducted after around 35 days from the last periods (counting from 1st day of your last periods)

- There is a chance that period might be delayed, in that case you can wait for a few more days and then visit a gynaecologist to consult her about the pregrnancy status. The gynaelcologist may recommend you sonography or ultrasound test for pregnancy.

What if even after taking I-pill, I get pregnant?
There are other methods as well, but agian within a given time line. Your gynaecologist will be able to assist you better.
Generally, within 49 days of conception (counting from the 1st day of your last periods), you can get rid of your unwanted pregnancy by using medicines. That means, even if you are pregnant, you can avoid pregnancy if you can take proper medicines within 49 days timeline. In some countries, some medicines are available which are effective till the 60th day as well, however, it varies from country to country. Your gynaecologist will be your best guide who will prescribe you the right treatment for getting rid of your unwanted pregnancy.
