In this series of articles, we will talk about a common skin problem of Warts. Each of us suffer from Warts sometime or the other in life. Some types of Warts are easily curable and they dont come up on the body parts which can be easily seen. While some kinds of Warts are not that easy to cure and some are those which come up on the open body parts like face, etc. making it very bad for the appearance of the person and might hurt his/her self confidence. Begining with the basics: What are Warts?
Warts (or verruca) is a small tissue like thing that grows on your skin. It is usually representing a small shape, like a small opening of a rough tumor. Warts usually grow on arms, hands, legs and feet but they are not confined to these areas alone, they can as well grow to other body parts. A Wart may resemble a cauliflower or something like a solid blister - see the above Pictures of Warts.

How are Warts caused?
Warts are quite common. Most problematic thing about Warts is that they are contagious i.e. they can spread from one person to the other when there is a physical contact between the two. It is also likely that one person may get Warts if he uses the belongings, like clothes, footwear, towels, etc. of the other person who has Warts.

Warts are usually caused by a kind of viral infection. The name of the virus responsible for causing Warts is the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). HPV is also known to be associated with laryngeal cancers, oral cancer, lung cancers and tracheal.
It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects used by an infected person.

How long do Warts stay?
Warts may disappear on their own say after a few months, but there is no guarantee for that. Warts can last or stay for months & years.
Not only that, once they disappear, they may reoccur at any point in future and can again stay on your body
