How do I determine my skin type? OR How do I know my skin type? Is there a home based method available?
Yes - a simple yet highly effective home based method is available to determine skin type. There is a very simple skin test which can be taken at home to know your skin type.

What is needed for this skin test? Only a few lens cleaning tissue papers (or rice paper)

Step 1 : Wash your face (with a mild soap or face wash)

Step 2 : Pat it normally, so that it becomes dry

Step 3 : Take the tissue paper and gently press that paper at various locations on the face.

That's it. The Skin test is over and now its for the result time:

- If the paper sticks onto your skin on almost all parts of your face and it developes oil marks, then your skin is oily skin.

- If the paper does not stick onto your skin and does not develope oil marks, then your skin is dry skin.

- If the paper sticks only at selectred spots on your face, like nose, chin or forehead then you have normal Skin (also called combination skin). Also, this kind of skin is most common skin type - more or less seventy percent of the females have normal skin types.
